Our Philosophy

Mayuno Kimono

Designed for everyday moments, inspired by heritage.

Throughout our journey, we have encountered many individuals who admire kimonos but feel uncertain about how to wear them. "People look at me; I don’t know how to wear it," they say. Yet, their desire to embrace the kimono remains. What do they truly seek? A garment that, while part of everyday life, also transports them to an extraordinary world—if only for a moment. The sensation of soft silk brushing the neck as one wraps a scarf. The flowing sleeves of a kimono worn during a coming-of-age ceremony. The delicate tiger pattern on a jacket, glimpsed in a city’s glass reflection. Each piece carries echoes of the past, merging seamlessly into the present.

The Soul of Old Textiles

Every vintage kimono carries the prayers and craftsmanship of its artisans, as well as the devotion of those who cherished it. It is almost miraculous that a silk fabric, woven 50 years ago, remains intact to this day. Its preservation speaks of the care and skill of those who wore it, their ability to handle it while maintaining its integrity. Each thread tells a story of reverence, patience, and artistry.
