This scarf was made from three girls' kimonos. they made of from the 1970s and 1990s. The fabric on the front is called Tsujigahana. Tsujigahana patterns are expressed using a technique called tie-dyeing or hand-painting. In tie-dyeing, the cloth is squeezed with thread to soak up the dye, creating a three-dimensional pattern. On the other hand, in hand-painting, the dye is applied directly onto the cloth to create the pattern. Adding hand-drawn outlines to a shibori-dyed pattern is another Tsujigahana technique. This is a Japanese dyeing method created by craftsmen over time.
On the back is a shiny fabric with a fan pattern.
Using the fabric created with the passion of Japanese craftsmen, we have nunoed a scarf that can be used in daily life.
