Patchwork Artistic Scarf

This is made from Kuro-tomesode, a kimono fabric that mothers can use for their children's weddings. The kimono is made from a prestigious and luxurious fabric and contains a happy feeling, just like a mother's wedding dress.

On the other side, a fabric using shibori, a traditional Japanese dyeing technique, is used. The overall colour scheme is pale blue and purple, depicting the tranquil nature before the sun rises. For the Japanese, the changing nature was depicted as a form of happiness given by the gods.

Two different blues are used for the ruffles to create a sense of unity.

The material used is silk from the 2000s and antique silk from 60 years ago.
